Diana Schmit

VP, Community & Adult Services at The Summit Center

Ms. Schmit joined Summit in 1986 and has held several positions including Early Intervention Service Coordinator and Director of Family Support Services. In her role as VP of Community & Adult Services, she acts as the liaison to funders and municipal contacts, participates in legislative initiatives, and manages services funded by NYS Office for Persons With Developmental Disabilities (OPWDD) and ACCES-VR. She has implemented multiple collaborative endeavors, most notably the Western New York Project SEARCH Collaborative.

She also oversees Summit’s Administrative Services team. She earned a B.A. from SUNY Oswego and an M.S. in Multidisciplinary Studies-Human Services Administration from Buffalo State College. She has been a member of the New York State Rehabilitation Association Summit design team and various Developmental Disabilities Alliance of Western New York committees.
