Patrick Gehlen

Patrick studied painting and sculpture at Pitzer College where he got his B.A. He went on to earn his M.F.A. at the University of Georgia, Athens. He worked as a lead animator on ABC’s One Saturday Morning line-up, heading the interstitial cartoon Tube Dwellers, before becoming lead previs artist on Disney’s The Wild.

Pat joined THE THIRD FLOOR in 2007 and is one of their longest-standing artists. He helped the company evolve from a group of a dozen artists into the largest visualization company in the world. Coming from a background of making original animated shorts, Pat is a very strong generalist with strengths in animation, lighting, camera work & composition, as well as overall story flow.
