Brian Cozby

Chief of Police at The University of Alabama in Huntsville

Brian Cozby began their career in law enforcement with the US Army in December 1999, where they served for four years as a Logistics Captain. In January 2005, they joined the Vanderbilt University Police Department, where they served for eight years as a Patrol Lieutenant. In October 2013, they joined the George Mason University Department of Police and Public Safety, where they served as the Support Services Bureau Captain for three years before being promoted to Assistant Chief of Police in October 2016. Brian has been serving as the Chief of Police at The University of Alabama in Huntsville since July 2021.

After completing a BS in Criminal Justice from the University of Central Missouri, Brian Cozby pursued a Master of Science in Criminology, Law & Society from George Mason University. Brian then attended the School of Police Staff and Command at Northwestern University, where they studied Criminal Justice/Law Enforcement Administration.
