Angela Averiett

Angela Averiett currently serves as the Chief of Police for the City of San Leandro since May 2024. With a diverse career in law enforcement, Averiett has previously held positions such as Chief of Police at Los Altos Police Department, Deputy Chief of Police at BART, and Police Lieutenant at both BART PD and the City of Hayward. Starting in law enforcement as a Police Records Clerk in Hayward, Averiett's experience also includes roles as Police Sergeant and Police Officer. Additionally, Averiett has pursued a career in acting since January 2006, affiliated with SAG and AFTRA. Averiett holds a Bachelor of Arts in Organizational Leadership from Saint Mary's College of California.
