Interim Director, Environmental Health & Safety at The University of Alabama in Huntsville

Hannah Upton is the Interim Director of Environmental Health & Safety at The University of Alabama in Huntsville. Prior to this, they worked as a Safety Analyst for Johnson Controls from February 2016 to August 2018, where they administered databases of incident records and employee certifications, maintained OSHA Log data and OSHA reporting responsibilities, tracked safety compliance data and calculated metrics, and prepared reports for management distribution. Hannah also served as an Environmental Scientist for the Alabama Department of Environmental Management from October 2014 to February 2016. In this role, they provided technical analytical support to corporate and project site personnel to ensure compliance with applicable Corps of Engineers Safety & Health regulations and OSHA regulations.

Hannah Upton received their Master of Science in Management Science - Business Analytics from The University of Alabama in Huntsville. Hannah also holds a Bachelor of Science (B.S.) in Environmental Science from Auburn University.

Hannah Upton works with Gary Zank - Director, Center for Plasma & Aeronomic Analysis, Robert Frederick - Director, Propulsion Research Center, and Kelli Gozales - Executive Assistant. Hannah Upton reports to Robert Lindquist, VP, Research & Economic Development.
