Jon Hakkila

Jon Hakkila is the Associate Provost, International Services, Academic Integrity at The University of Alabama in Huntsville. Jon was previously the Associate Dean at the University of Charleston, SC at the College of Charleston from July 2015 to January 2022. Jon was also a Professor and SC Space Grant Campus Director at the College of Charleston from August 2000 to January 2022.

Jon Hakkila received their Doctor of Philosophy (Ph.D.) in Astronomy from New Mexico State University. Jon also holds a Bachelor of Arts (B.A.) in Physics and English/American Literature from UC San Diego.

Tayln Walton - Program Coordinator, Joy Werka - International Services, and Susan Knight - Senior Administrative Assistant report to Jon Hakkila. Their manager is David Puleo, Provost & EVP, Academic Affairs. They are on a team with William Wilkerson - Dean, Honors College, Dale Thomas - Alabama Space Grant Consortium Director, and Tessa Brown - Senior Resource Manager.
