Robert Hayes

Robert Hayes currently serves as Associate Provost at The University of Alabama, providing strategic oversight for the Office of Teaching Innovation and Digital Education and acting as the chief executive officer for UA’s Distance Learning Campus since December 2022. Prior to this role, Hayes was Interim Dean at the College of Continuing Studies from May 2018 to December 2022, leading innovative educational initiatives across Alabama and globally. Additionally, Hayes held several positions within The University of Alabama, including Associate Dean for Online Learning, Interim Associate Dean & Director of Academic Outreach, Director of External Relations, and Assistant Dean and Director of Student Services. With a Ph.D. in Instructional Leadership from The University of Alabama, alongside Master's and Bachelor's degrees from Jacksonville State University, Hayes possesses extensive experience in educational leadership, online learning, and student services.
