John-Paul Tung

John-Paul Tung is a Senior Research Fellow at the Australian Red Cross Lifeblood, specializing in transfusion safety and research themes aimed at reducing the risks associated with transfusions and transfusion-related acute lung injury (TRALI). With extensive experience in research and project management, John-Paul leads initiatives to explore the effects of stored blood products on patient outcomes using both in vitro and in vivo models. In addition to roles at the Australian Red Cross Lifeblood, John-Paul holds honorary positions at The University of Queensland and is an Adjunct Senior Lecturer at Queensland University of Technology. John-Paul's previous positions include work as a research scientist in various laboratories focused on diagnostic testing for bloodborne viruses. John-Paul earned a PhD in Medicine from The University of Queensland and has a Bachelor of Science in Molecular Biology and related fields.
