Simon Pengilly

Simon Pengilly is a seasoned professional with extensive experience in international safeguards and compliance, currently serving as Senior Manager International Safeguards at The University of Queensland since March 2019. Previously, Simon held various roles within the Australian Department of Home Affairs from 2008 to 2019, including Second Secretary focused on immigration and airline liaison, and Assistant Director at the National Character Consideration Centre. Additional roles included Assistant Manager within the Onshore Protection, Refugee, and Humanitarian Branch, and Senior Visa Officer. Simon's career began at RMIT University as a Research Assistant in the Centre for Applied Social Research. Simon holds a Bachelor of Social Science (Honours) in Social Sciences from RMIT University, completed in 2002.
