Noel Sharkey

Noel Sharkey is an Emeritus Professor of AI and Robotics and Public Engagement at the University of Sheffield, where employment has spanned from 1994 to the present. Between 2009 and 2016, Sharkey served as Chair at ICRAC and was a Fellow on the Ethics of Battlefield Robots at The Leverhulme Trust from 2010 to 2012, focusing on research regarding Autonomous Weapons Systems. Additionally, Sharkey acted as an Advisor for 2020Healthorg and held the position of Senior Media Fellow at the Engineering and Physical Science Research Council from 2004 to 2010.
