Darren Hughes has extensive work experience in various roles and organizations. Darren is currently working as the Senior Director of User Experience at the University of Tennessee (UT) Foundation, where they are responsible for managing the implementation of Salesforce and other applications to support UT's advancement operations. Prior to this, Darren held positions as the Director of User Experience, Director of Online Engagement, and Director of Communications at the UT Foundation, where they led teams and managed digital initiatives, communications, and engagement strategies. Earlier in their career, Darren worked as a Communications Manager at the UT Alumni Association and as a Web Designer at the Office of Creative Communications. Outside of their work at the UT Foundation, Darren has taken on freelance projects as a Web Developer, Writer, Instructor, and Curator, focusing on website design, writing about contemporary cinema, and teaching workshops. Additionally, they worked as a Designer at Delta Training Partners Inc, where they specialized in industrial training and instructional design. Darren also has upcoming experience as the Artistic Director for Film Fest Knox, set to debut in 2023.
Darren Hughes has pursued higher education at multiple institutions. Darren holds a Bachelor of Science degree in English Education from Florida State University. Additionally, they completed a Master of Arts in English at the University of North Carolina Wilmington. Currently, Darren is an A.B.D. (All But Dissertation) candidate in English at the University of Tennessee, Knoxville.
