Angela Beasley is an experienced academic and engineer specializing in computer science and machine learning. Currently serving as an Assistant Professor of Instruction at The University of Texas at Austin since August 2017, Angela teaches courses including Principles of Machine Learning and Introduction to Data Mining. Previously, Angela worked as an Engineering Scientist at Applied Research Laboratories, where the focus was on sonar systems and tactical decision aids, and held roles as a Software Engineer at Lockheed Martin and adjunct professor at Northern Virginia Community College and Austin Community College. Angela also gained early experience as an intern at NASA, applying genetic programming to ecological modeling. Angela holds a BS in Computer Science from The University of Texas at Austin and an MS in Computer Science with a concentration in Machine Learning from The George Washington University.
