Claudia Mora

Dean at The University of Texas at Austin

Claudia Mora is the current Dean at The University of Texas at Austin. Claudia has also served as President of the Geological Society of America from July 2015 to June 2018, and as a Councilor for the organization from January 2008 to December 2010. Mora was also previously employed at Los Alamos National Laboratory from January 2007 to February 2020, where they held the positions of Deputy Division Leader in the Chemistry Division and Professor and Head of Earth and Planetary Sciences. Before their time at Los Alamos National Laboratory, Mora was employed at the University of Tennessee from January 1989 to December 2007.

Claudia Mora received their PhD in geology from the University of Wisconsin-Madison, their MS in geology from Rice University, and their BS in geology from The University of New Mexico. Claudia also attended Albuquerque Academy.
