Garrick Bailey

Garrick Bailey has a diverse work experience in various roles and organizations. Garrick is currently working at The Village Church as the Director of The Village Church Institute, a position they started in February 2022. Prior to that, they served as an Institute Minister at the same church from June 2021 to February 2022.

Before joining The Village Church, Garrick was an Adjunct Instructor of Christian Theology and Worldview at Boyce College from January 2016 to November 2020. Garrick also worked at The Southern Baptist Theological Seminary, where they held multiple roles. These included Director of Distance Education from June 2016 to April 2020, Assistant Director of Global Theological Education and Ministry Apprenticeship Program from November 2015 to June 2016, and Assistant to the Associate Vice President for Global Campus from July 2014 to November 2015. In their latter role, they were responsible for various activities and materials related to extension centers, including personnel actions, accreditation requirements, extension course scheduling, budget management, and collaboration with faculty.

Earlier in their career, Garrick worked as the Director of Student Ministry at Centennial Church from June 2010 to May 2014 and as the Area Director at Young Life from July 2002 to July 2010. Garrick also had a role as an Instructional Design Consultant at Texas Tech University from May 2001 to May 2002.

Garrick Bailey's education history begins in 1997 when they attended Texas Tech University, where they obtained a Bachelor of Business Administration (B.B.A.) degree in Management Information Systems in 2001. After completing their undergraduate studies, they pursued further education in theology.

From 2010 to 2014, Garrick attended Dallas Theological Seminary, where they earned a Master of Theology degree with a focus on Historical Theology. Following this, they continued their academic journey by enrolling at The Southern Baptist Theological Seminary from 2014 to 2022. During this period, they obtained a Doctor of Philosophy (Ph.D.) degree with a major in Systematic Theology and a minor in Church History.

In addition to their formal degree programs, Garrick also earned a certification in Online Education Administration from the University of Wisconsin-Madison in April 2020.
