Georgina Borromeo

Senior Director of Collections & Curatorial Affairs and Senior Curator of Ancient Art at The Walters Art Museum

Georgina Borromeo's work experience includes being the Senior Director of Collections & Curatorial Affairs and Senior Curator of Ancient Art at The Walters Art Museum starting in 2022. Prior to this role, they were the Chief Curator and Curator of Ancient Art at RISD Museum from 2020 to 2022 and the Curator of Ancient Art from 2003 to 2020. Georgina also held the position of Associate Curator of Ancient Art at the Museum of Art, Rhode Island School of Design from 2000 to 2003.

Georgina Borromeo is a highly educated individual who has pursued their passion for History of Art and Architecture throughout their academic career. Between 1980 and 1984, they completed their undergraduate degree in Art History at Wheaton College Massachusetts. In 1985, they moved to Brown University to pursue their Master of Arts degree, which they completed in 1988. Georgina stayed on at Brown University to complete their Ph.D. in History of Art and Architecture, which they earned in 1993.
