Robert Hollis

Research Geoscientist at The Water Institute

Robert Hollis is a Research Geoscientist at The Water Institute of the Gulf since March 2022, with prior experience as a Coastal Geologist at Applied Coastal Research & Engineering and a Graduate Research Assistant at The University of Southern Mississippi. At The University, Robert focused on the Holocene stratigraphic evolution of the inner shelf of Mississippi and Alabama. Earlier roles include serving as a Research Assistant at the Rhode Island Geological Survey, where Robert updated shoreline change maps and conducted sonar surveys. Robert holds a Master’s Degree in Geological Oceanography from The University of Southern Mississippi and a Bachelor of Science in Geology and Geological Oceanography from the University of Rhode Island. Additional educational background includes studies at Iowa State University and the Sea Education Association.
