Steve Meck

Steve Meck has a diverse work experience in the legal field. Steve began their career at Morrison & Foerster LLP, where they worked as an Associate in both the Tokyo, Japan and California offices from September 1999 to November 2006. Steve then joined King & Wood Mallesons as a Legal Counsel in Australia from January 2007 to April 2010. Following this, Meck worked at BHP Billiton, starting in September 2010 as a Team Manager in Group Legal (Copper), then as a Managing Counsel in Petroleum from June 2015 to March 2016, and finally as an Associate General Counsel in Iron Ore from March 2016 to October 2016. Currently, Meck is working at The Weir Group PLC, where they started in October 2016 as a General Counsel Americas and Chief Compliance Officer. More recently, in May 2022, they transitioned to the role of General Counsel and Chief Compliance Officer.

Steve Meck obtained a Bachelor of Arts (B.A.) in International Relations from William & Mary, where they studied from 1992 to 1994. Steve then pursued a Master's Degree in Comparative Politics at New York University from 1995 to 1996. Following this, Steve attended the University of Michigan Law School, where they earned a Doctor of Law (J.D.) degree from 1997 to 1999. In addition to their formal education, Steve holds certifications such as a Legal Practicing Certificate from the Law Society of South Australia, which they obtained in 2009. Steve is also a Member of the Bar with the State Bar of California, having obtained this designation in October 1999.
