Gareth Young

Gareth Young has extensive experience in risk and insurance management. Gareth began their career in 1995 as an Insurance Adviser at The BOC Group. Gareth then worked at Marsh as a Client Executive from 1998 to 2005. Afterwards, they joined The Weir Group as a Group Risk Manager, where they remained from 2005 to 2012. Gareth then returned to Marsh as a VP Multinational Risks for a year. Currently, they hold the position of Head of Risk and Insurance at The Weir Group PLC since 2013.

Gareth Young obtained a Bachelor of Arts (Honours) degree in Risk Management from Glasgow Caledonian University, where they studied from 1991 to 1995. In addition to their degree, they also hold a certification in the Weir Mining Leadership Program which they obtained from the University of Utah in March 2022.
