Daniel Hurd started their work experience in 2009 as a Research Assistant and Writer at the University of Texas at Dallas. Daniel later became a Project Lead, managing a team of 20 employees and researchers for the Army-funded First Person Cultural Trainer project. In 2011, they joined Zynga With Friends Studio, where they worked as a Game Designer and later as a Senior Game Designer. Daniel then became the Studio Design Lead, where they managed designers and collaborated with other discipline managers to define the studio's goals. In 2013, they joined Playful Corp as the Director of New Super Lucky's Tale, Super Lucky's Tale, and Lucky's Tale. In 2020, they became the Creative Director at PeopleFun. Currently, they are the Game Director for Wildcard at The Wildcard Alliance.
Daniel Hurd completed their Bachelor of Arts degree in English at The University of Texas at Austin from 2001 to 2005. Subsequently, they pursued their Master of Fine Arts degree in Arts and Technology at The University of Texas at Dallas from 2008 to 2010.
