Deb Bennett has a diverse work experience in the wireless telecommunications industry. Deb is currently serving as the Vice President of Apprenticeship for the Wireless Infrastructure Association (WIA), specifically overseeing the Telecommunications Industry Registered Apprenticeship Program (TIRAP) since December 2022. Prior to this role, they were the Director of Apprenticeship at WIA, responsible for the day-to-day administration and operation of the apprenticeship program from February 2016 to December 2022.
In addition to their work at WIA, Deb is the President of their own consultancy firm, DB Consultancy, LLC, which they established in February 2016. With over 20 years of experience in wireless telecommunications, they are a senior-level consultant specializing in various areas such as site acquisition, construction, engineering, compliance, quality, and project/program management. Deb has a particular expertise in developing and implementing policies, practices, procedures, systems, and tools related to project management.
Before starting their own consultancy firm, Deb held various roles at Black & Veatch starting from January 2000 until September 2015. Deb initially served as a Performance Consultant with a focus on project management, working collaboratively with different divisions within the company to develop performance improvement solutions. Later, they became the Director of the Project Management Office for the Telecommunications Division, where they were responsible for delivering telecommunication infrastructure solutions to utilities, government agencies, and the wireless industry.
Prior to their work at Black & Veatch, Deb worked as a Senior Property Specialist at Sprint Spectrum L.P. from 1996 to 2000. Deb has also played a significant role in the Women's Wireless Leadership Forum (WWLF), where they currently serve as a WIA Advisor and has held previous positions of President and Director of Education since February 2009. WWLF is an association for professional women in the wireless communications industry, providing networking opportunities and career advancement support.
Deb Bennett completed their high school education at Columbus Lakeview High School from 1976 to 1980. Deb then went on to attend Wayne State College from 1980 to 1984, where they earned a Bachelor of Education degree in Health & Physical Education. In 1991, Deb obtained a Certificate in Paralegal studies from the University of Missouri-Kansas City. Later, in 2015, they pursued further education at Johnson County Community College and acquired a Business Leadership Certificate.
