Melanie Becker

Melanie Becker is a skilled psychotherapist with extensive experience in trauma-informed care, particularly for survivors of sexual assault. Since June 2015, Melanie has operated a private practice providing individual therapy. In their dual role as Trauma Therapist and Counseling Coordinator at The Women's Center since December 2013, Melanie has developed therapy groups, conducted outreach, and empowered clients. Previous roles include Clinical Social Worker at Medstar Georgetown University Hospital, where Melanie led end-of-life decision-making and provided support to families, and Student Therapist at the DC Rape Crisis Center, focusing on crisis intervention for sexual assault survivors. Melanie's background also includes case management and support work across various healthcare settings, alongside a commitment to public health education through the U.S. Peace Corps. Melanie holds a Master's Degree in Social Work from The Catholic University of America and a Bachelor of Arts in Psychology and Business Management from Alverno College.
