Anja Schmitz

Anja Schmitz is a seasoned clinical psychologist and academic with a diverse background in teaching, research, and practice. Currently serving as a Volunteer Clinical Professor at the University of California, San Francisco, and as a Licensed Clinical Psychologist in private practice, Anja has also held roles as Adjunct Faculty at The Wright Institute and Chief Clinical Officer at hellokip.com until its acquisition by Modern Health in 2021. Anja's prior experience includes positions at the National Institute of Mental Health, University of Regensburg, and University of Giessen, where Anja focused on anxiety, cognitive behavior therapy, and genetic epidemiology. Anja holds a PhD in Psychology and is a candidate in Cognitive Behavior Therapy, combining extensive clinical expertise with a strong academic foundation.
