Director Of Technical Innovation at Theiagen Genomics

Prof Andrew Page has extensive work experience in various roles and organizations. Prof Andrew is currently the Director of Technical Innovation at Theiagen Genomics since May 2023. Prior to this, they worked as a Visiting Professor at the University of East Anglia from December 2022.

Their previous role as the Head of Informatics at Quadram Institute from February 2018 to June 2023 involved leading teams in bioinformatics infrastructure, method development, data management, genome sequencing, and data analysis for 130 scientific researchers.

Before that, they served as the Principal Computer Programmer at Wellcome Trust Sanger Institute from June 2011 to February 2018, where they led the Pathogen Informatics team supporting 150 researchers. Prof Andrew also held the role of Senior Software Developer at the same institute from September 2009 to June 2011.

Prof Page has also been the founder and developer of Bigulo.com, a social networking search engine, from August 2006 to October 2009. Additionally, they have worked as a Machine Learning Postdoctoral Research Fellow and an Associate Faculty lecturer at the National College of Ireland from September 2008 to August 2009, and a Part-time Lecturer at NUI Maynooth from February 2008 to March 2009.

In their earlier career, they were an Administrator at The Property Pin from September 2007 to August 2008 and at Politics.ie from February 2003 to March 2008. Prof Andrew also worked as a Teaching Assistant at NUI Maynooth from September 2003 to June 2007, where they supervised final year BSc projects and assisted in undergraduate labs in Computer Science.

Prof Andrew Page attended Maynooth University from 1999 to 2003 and obtained a 1.1 BSc (Hons) degree in Computer Science and Software Engineering. Prof Andrew then pursued a PhD in Computer Science at the same university from 2003 to 2008.
