Manuel Garcia Moreno has over 12 years of work experience in the field of molecular biology and virology. Manuel is currently working as a Senior Scientist at Theolytics since July 2022. Prior to this, Manuel worked at the University of Oxford for 6 years from May 2016 to July 2022 as a Postdoctoral Researcher, focusing on the identification of protein-RNA interactions in human viruses and neurological disorders caused by mosquito-borne viruses. Before that, they were a PHD candidate at the Centro de Biología Molecular Severo Ochoa, CBMSO from September 2010 to April 2015, where their research centered around translation initiation mechanisms of viral mRNAs and the role of viral 3' untranslated regions in protein synthesis and virus evolution. Manuel also gained research experience as a Research Intern at the Andalusian Center for Development Biology in 2010 and at the Julius Maximilians University of Würzburg in 2009.
Manuel Garcia Moreno obtained their bachelor's degree in Biotechnology from Universidad Pablo de Olavide, graduating in 2010. Manuel then pursued their Master of Science in Molecular and Cellular Biology at Universidad Autónoma de Madrid from 2010 to 2011. Continuing on their educational journey, Manuel completed their Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) in Molecular Biology, Biochemistry, Biotechnology, and Biomedicine at the same institution from 2010 to 2015.
