Dr. Marilyn De Chantal has over 13 years of work experience in the pharmaceutical and biotechnology industry. Marilyn currently serves as the Senior Global Medical Director, Endocrinology at Theratechnologies Inc., where they are responsible for developing medical strategies for the US, Canada, and Europe. Marilyn also works as a Senior Medical Advisor, leading the clinical development of a phase III study in NASH and participating in discussions with regulatory authorities.
Prior to their current role, Dr. De Chantal worked at Sanofi for 10 years. Marilyn served as a Scientific Communications Advisor, focusing on diabetes and cardiovascular areas, where they developed scientific communication plans and implemented initiatives with Key Opinion Leaders (KOLs). Marilyn also worked as a Health Outcomes Manager and Health Economic and Outcomes & Market Manager, where they built market access strategies, addressed reimbursement challenges, and prepared reimbursement dossier for Canada. Additionally, they held the position of Manager, Regional Medical Operations Cardiovascular and Metabolism (MSL), where they communicated scientific information with KOLs and developed educational initiatives for diabetic patients. Marilyn started their career at Sanofi as a Clinical Project Leader/Medical Manager in the Oncology department, where they established and managed clinical studies.
Throughout their career, Dr. De Chantal has demonstrated strong expertise in medical strategy development, regulatory affairs, market access, scientific communications, and clinical project management.
Marilyn De Chantal, Ph.D. obtained their Bachelor's degree in Human Biology from the Université de Montréal from 1998 to 2001. Marilyn then pursued further studies at the same institution, completing a Master of Science (MSc) in Cardiovascular Physiology - Pharmacology from 2001 to 2002. Continuing their academic journey, Marilyn received their Doctor of Philosophy (Ph.D.) in Cardiovascular Physiology - Pharmacology from the Université de Montréal from 2001 to 2006.
