Merrilyn Datta

Merrilyn Datta currently serves as the Group Vice President of Marketing and Strategy at Thermo Fisher Scientific, overseeing business strategy for growth and profitability in the biotherapeutics and vaccines sector since September 2022. Datta has a diverse background with significant experience in leadership roles at renowned organizations, including Illumina, where responsibilities spanned corporate marketing, communications, and business operations from 2016 to 2022. Datta's previous roles include Chief Commercial Officer at Definiens AG and Vice President at AstraZeneca, where strategic initiatives for growth and marketing were key focuses. Education includes a Ph.D. in Biochemistry and an M.S. in Molecular Biology from Harvard University, as well as an MBA in Marketing and Strategy from the University of California, Irvine. Additionally, Datta serves as a board member for the Elementary Institute of Science.
