Derek Muxworthy

Derek Muxworthy has worked in the software development industry since 2014. In 2014, they worked as a Research Assistant at Shield-X Technology, where they researched potential materials to replace existing top layer of product in order to optimize both performance and cost. Derek also had daily correspondence with material manufacturers in order to streamline product development regarding quality control, candidate materials as well as negotiations for future orders. In 2015, they worked as a Software Development Student at BlackBerry, where they worked in an Agile environment, fixed bugs and defects in Blackberry's custom UI controls, and researched best existing applications in a specific category that were currently available on the GooglePlay store. In 2016, they began working at ThinkCX as a Senior Engineering Manager, where they were responsible for leading a team of data scientists to meet product goals. Theirresponsibilities included planning tasks, conducting code review, and ensuring products were delivered on time. Derek also translated data analysis findings into business recommendations. Additionally, they worked as a Software Developer at ThinkCX, where they were responsible for processing, enrichment, and mining massive ad tech data set to provide insights for the Telecommunications industry. Derek created a filtration system for an online attribution graph which removed 80% of faulty conversions, and designed a system that aggregated raw data set into audience user profiles for smartphones.

Derek Muxworthy attended Simon Fraser University from 2012 to 2017, where they earned a Bachelor's Degree in Mechatronics, Robotics, and Automation Engineering.
