Michael McGahan

Michael McGahan has a long and varied work experience. Michael began their career in 2002 as a Research Assistant for the Duke Cognitive Behavioral Research and Treatment Program and the Duke University Center for International Studies, where they also served as a Web Developer. In 2005, they were a Research and Development Intern at Boston Acoustics. From 2006 to 2008, they were a Residential IB Psychology Teacher and Web Developer at The Mahindra United World College of India. During this time, they also worked as a Research Assistant at Columbia University. From 2008 to 2012, they were a Web Developer at Teachers College, Columbia University. Michael then worked as a Developer at Springload from 2012 to 2013. From 2013 to 2020, they worked at Meetup, where they served as a Principal Web Engineer, Product Engineering Lead, and UI Engineer. Most recently, they have been a Principal Engineer at Alice Financial since 2021.

Michael McGahan has an extensive education history. Michael began their studies in 2000 at Li Po Chun United World College of Hong Kong, where they earned an International Baccalaureate. Michael then attended Duke University from 2002 to 2006, where they earned a B.Sc. in Electrical Engineering and Psychology. During this time, they also completed study abroad programs at The University of Queensland and Victoria University of Wellington. In 2008, they completed a Master of Philosophy (M.Phil.) in Psychology from Columbia University, and in 2014 they earned a Ph.D. in Cognitive Science from the same institution.
