The Opportunity 

The Logistics Coordinator will oversee all logistics operations, focusing on optimizing freight and shipping processes to ensure cost-efficiency and reliability. This position requires a deep understanding of the logistics industry, including extensive knowledge of booking and managing shipments through third-party logistics companies (3PLs) for both full truckload (FTL) and less-than-truckload (LTL) shipments. The ideal candidate must have experience working with Amazon Freight, specifically within the Fulfillment by Amazon (FBA) program. 

Responsibilities

  • Participate in Lean Six Sigma initiatives, promoting a culture of continuous improvement and operational excellence throughout the production process.
  • Collaborate with team members and other departments to identify areas for improvement and implement solutions.
  • Continuously improve logistic operational strategies through ongoing analysis and process improvements.
  • Drive root cause analysis and problem-solving, particularly in areas of freight cost reduction, improvement of shipment reliability, and enhancement of partner relations.

Logistics Management

  • Negotiate and secure optimal freight rates with third-party logistics companies for both FTL and LTL shipments.

  • Oversee the booking and scheduling of inbound and outbound shipments, focusing on cost-effectiveness and timely delivery.

  • Expertise in Amazon Freight operations, including booking inbound shipment appointments within the Amazon freight network.

  • Coordinate FBA shipments, ensuring compliance with Amazon’s operational requirements and timelines.

  • Manage the logistics aspect of the FBA program, including inventory shipments, returns, and fulfillment efficiency.

  • Analyze logistics processes and performance, identifying opportunities for improvement and cost savings.

  • Collaborate with supply chain and warehouse teams to align logistics strategies with overall business objectives.

  • Ensure all logistics activities comply with relevant laws, regulations, and industry standards.

  • Maintain accurate records of shipments, rates negotiations, and contracts for auditing and analysis.

Safety & Training

  • Strictly adhere to all safety and health regulations and coach team members on job responsibilities.
  • Foster a clean and safe working environment.

Who You Are / Requirements

  • A minimum of 5 years’ experience in logistics or supply chain management, with specific experience in freight and third-party logistics management.

  • Strong proficiency in Microsoft programs, with specific expertise in Microsoft Excel:  V Look-up, Pivot Tables, Analytics, etc…

  • Great time management, excellent communication skills, and the ability to prioritize effectively.

  • Proven track record of making data-driven decisions and successfully managing inventories.

  • Highly organized and detail-oriented, with the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.

  • Lean Six Sigma Certification – Highly Desired.
