Matt Coatney

Matt Coatney is a seasoned technology executive with a diverse background in information technology leadership across multiple sectors. Currently serving as Chief Information Officer at Thompson Hine LLP since April 2021, Matt oversees the firm's IT resources and drives technology solutions to enhance client service. As a fractional Chief Technology Officer for various startups since January 2019, Matt provides technical guidance and develops MVPs while advising on foundation and growth strategies. Previous roles include Chief Technology Officer at HBR Consulting, where Matt managed IT services for law firms globally, and Vice President at Exaptive, Inc., leading professional services for a cloud-based analytics company. Matt's extensive experience also includes leadership positions at WilmerHale and LexisNexis, along with earlier roles in consulting and software engineering. Matt holds a Master's Degree in Computer and Information Science and a Bachelor's Degree in Biochemistry, both from The Ohio State University.
