Tom Mckenna

Tom McKenna is the current Chief Operating Officer at Thorne HealthTech. Tom has over 12 years of experience in leading the development and execution of company-wide strategy and operations for a privately held global nutritional supplement company distributing products through licensed medical professionals. Tom is responsible for business operations of Thorne HealthTech and has increased revenues over 5 times, with international business increasing tenfold. Tom has also led the construction of a 272,000 sq. ft. facility and successful move of the Company from northern Idaho to South Carolina. Tom is now leading efforts to triple current facilities capacity. In addition, they have helped raise nearly $90 million in capital, including funds to construct a build-to-suit facility, and related State/local business incentives. Tom has also integrated two acquired businesses and launched 6 new business units. Tom McKenna is also a recognized industry leader in quality and has improved quality and testing operations in cGMP plant, including multiple FDA, NSF and TGA audits with no 483’s or major issues; strengthened in-house testing, implemented formal stability, gluten-free and non-GMO testing programs. Tom has more than tripled staff, implemented formal training, professional development and performance assessment programs, improved employee benefits, operating policies and implemented business risk management practices. Prior to their current position, Tom McKenna was Managing Director at Navigant Consulting for just over a year and they were also the Chief Operating Officer, Healthcare Division at Diversified Natural Products for 1 year 3 months. Before their career in consulting and healthtech, Tom McKenna was an insurance agent and principal at McKenna Insurance Agency for 2 years 1 month.

Tom Mckenna has an MBA from the Fox School of Business at Temple University and a degree in finance from Fairfield University. Tom also has a minor in economics.
