James Boisvert

Craftsperson at Thos. Moser

For Jim Boisvert, life as a craftsman began at age ten. While other children his age tuned into Saturday morning cartoons, Jim watched the Woodwright’s Shop. Throughout high school, Jim participated in the woodshop and building trades courses, giving him a solid foundation and familiarity with power tools. But he yearned to create furniture with hand tools. In 1983, Jim took a weekend woodworking course offered by the craftsmen at Thos. Moser Cabinetmakers.

Since joining Thos. Moser, Jim has worked on pieces for presidential libraries and universities and has mentored customers during week-long workshops. Over the last twenty years, Jim has kept a notebook cataloging every piece of furniture he has made as a Thos. Moser craftsman.
