Jaala Alex

Jaala Alex has a diverse work experience spanning several roles and organizations. Jaala is currently working at Thriday since 2021, where they started as a Community Manager and then transitioned to the role of Head of People & Culture in 2023. Prior to Thriday, they were an Advisor and Co-Founder at The Community Collective from 2021 to 2022.

In 2019, Jaala worked as a Community Manager at Monash Generator and then transitioned to the role of Events and Marketing Officer. Before that, they were a Marketing Officer at the Queensland Art Gallery | Gallery of Modern Art from 2017 to 2018 and also served as a Marketing Coordinator for the Brisbane International Film Festival in 2018.

Earlier in their career, Jaala had roles as a Media Coordinator at Museum of Brisbane in 2017, a Communications Officer at the Institute of Modern Art from 2017 to 2017, and a Media and Communications Officer at artisan – peak body for craft & design in Queensland from 2015 to 2017.

Jaala Alex attended Queensland College of Art from 2010 to 2015, where they obtained a First Class Honours degree in Bachelor of Photography.
