Malcolm Kiano has had a varied career, beginning in 2014 as a Frontend Web Developer at Small Developers. In 2015, they joined Young Possible, LLC as a Graphic Designer, where they were responsible for creating artwork for the global start-up competition "Get In The Ring". In 2018, they joined the US Navy as an Electronic Technician, Submarine Navigation, where they operated and maintained electronic equipment. In 2019, they became Self-Employed as a Full Stack Engineer, building various front-end and full-stack projects from the ground up. In 2020, they began working for both Wilson Language Training and Coastal Natives & Co as a Frontend Web Developer, where they took part in planning and implementing large scale Angular applications, designed and developed a custom CMS, built a library of reusable components, and built robust applications for FinTech clients on different platforms. In 2022, they joined Thuma as a Software Engineer.

Malcolm Kiano attended SAE Expression College from 2017 to 2018, where they earned an Associate of Arts and Sciences - AAS in Audio Engineering. In 2020, they attended Thinkful to pursue Software Engineering.
