Tickmill is looking for a Backend Services Team Lead to participate in strategic and tactical planning cycles and ensure that plan is delivered in time and with accordance to company standards by collaborating with all involved stakeholders. The ideal candidate will also manage deployment of releases of the Back Office/Client Area systems and supervise the Team’s Day to day activities.

What the job looks like?

The Backend Services Team Lead will have the opportunity to:

• Collaborate with software architects to facilitate all critical decision making on changes in technology standards, stacks, tools, frameworks, libraries, protocols, etc.

• Maintain high standards of software quality within the team by establishing good practices.

• Participate in strategic and tactical planning cycles and ensure that plan is delivered in time and with accordance to company standards.

• Identify and reduce technical debt.

• Identify and encourage areas for growth and improvement within the team.

• Assess opportunities for application and process improvement and prepare documentation of rationale to share with team members and other affected parties.

• Develop, test, and maintain Back Office/ Client Area Systems.

• Manage deployment of releases of the Back Office/Client Area systems.

• Perform reviews of other engineers' code.

• Analyse and resolve technical and application problems.

• Provide second-level support and resolve technical problems.

• Supervise the Team’s Day to day activities.

• Collaborate with Lead Development Coordinator to set priorities and assign work to Team members.

• Keep the team's momentum.

What will you need to be able to do the job?

  • Degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field.

  • At least 3 years of proven experience as a team leader or team supervisor in a similar field.

  • Strong understanding of object-oriented programming and design patterns.

  • Passionate about software development, with fluency in C# and familiarity with .NET Core.

  • Experience with microservice-based architecture components including RESTful APIs, gateways, messaging systems and containerization technologies such as Docker.

  • Good understanding of code versioning tools.

  • Excellent analytical, and problem-solving skills with both developers and product members.

  • Proficient in English language with excellent written and verbal communication skills.
