Mark Weisman, MD, MBA has extensive work experience in the healthcare industry. Mark currently serves as the Chief Information Officer / Chief Medical Information Officer (CIO/CMIO) at TidalHealth, where they utilize technology to enhance the performance of healthcare providers and empower patients. In this role, they also improve the efficiency and value of support functions like finance, HR, and IT.

Prior to joining TidalHealth, Dr. Weisman worked at Sentara Healthcare for 18 years. During their time there, they held the position of Medical Director of Analytics, Informatics, Innovation, and Strategy (Associate CMIO). Mark also acted as a bridge between clinical and technology teams, contributing to strategic planning and initiatives.

Mark Weisman, MD, MBA has an extensive education history. Mark began their educational journey at The George Washington University, where they earned a Bachelor of Science (BS) degree in Management of EMS Systems from 1990 to 1993. Mark then pursued their medical education at The George Washington University School of Medicine and Health Sciences, earning their MD degree from 1993 to 1997. Following this, they completed their residency in Internal Medicine at North Shore University Hospital from 1997 to 2000.

To further enhance their knowledge and skills in the healthcare field, Mark obtained various certifications. Mark became a Board-Certified physician in Internal Medicine by the American Board of Internal Medicine. Additionally, they obtained a Clinical Informatics certification from the American Board of Preventative Medicine in January 2020. Mark also holds certifications in Epic Power User and Epic Physician Builder from Epic Systems Inc. acquired in December 2017 and July 2017, respectively.

Expanding their expertise beyond medicine, Mark pursued a Master of Business Administration (MBA) degree from the Isenberg School of Management at UMass Amherst, completing their studies from 2012 to 2015. Furthermore, they obtained multiple certificates from Coursera and other institutions. These include certifications in SQL for Data Science, Fundamentals of Visualization with Tableau, Communicating Business Analytics Results, Business Analytics for Decision Making, Introduction to Data Analytics for Business, and Predictive Modeling and Analytics from the University of California Davis and the University of Colorado Boulder. Mark also holds a Scrum Master certification from the Scrum Alliance, acquired in September 2016.

Continuing their commitment to lifelong learning, Mark is currently pursuing a Graduate Certificate in Cybersecurity from the Harvard Extension School, expected to be completed by 2023.
