Coen Bongers has a long history of work experience in the fields of Physiology, Ergonomics, and Rehabilitation. In 2011, they began working as a Student-Assistant at the Radboudumc department of Rehabilitation, and then moved on to become a Postdoc researcher and PhD student in the department of Physiology. TheirPhD thesis was titled "Thermoregulatory responses and fluid balance control during exercise". In 2018, Bongers worked as a Research affiliate at the University of Sydney Thermal Ergonomics Laboratory. In 2019, they returned to Radboudumc as a Postdoctoraal onderzoeker in the department of Fysiologie. In 2017, they also worked as a Postdoc researcher at HAN Sport en Bewegen (Hogeschool van Arnhem en Nijmegen). Finally, in 2021, Bongers began working as a Docent / Onderzoeker at HAN Sport en Bewegen and as Head of Research at Tigeraire.
Coen Bongers obtained a VWO from Udens College in 2002-2008. Coen then went on to earn a Bachelor of Science (BSc) in Biomedical Sciences, General from Radboud University in 2008-2011. Finally, they earned a Master of Science (MSc) in Human Movement Sciences from Radboud University in 2011-2013.
