Twana Cooks-Allen has extensive experience in the field of mental health. Twana currently holds the position of Mental Health Practitioner at TimelyMD and Teladoc Health, starting in 2021. Prior to this, they worked as a Marriage and Family Clinician at the Department of Veterans Affairs from 2012 to 2020. Before that, they served as a Counseling Psychologist at the Department of Defense-Ft. Hood from 2010 to 2012. In 2008, Twana worked as a Mental Health Coordinator at the Department of Homeland Security /Willacy Detention Center, and from 2004 to 2008, they were a Mental Health Provider at NIA. Twana's career in mental health began in 1991 when they established Twana Cooks-Allen Inc, where they worked as a Mental Health Specialist until 2008. Their role involved providing mental health services to individuals of all ages in various locations in Missouri.
Twana Cooks-Allen holds a Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) degree in Counseling Psychology and Marriage and Family Therapy from Saint Louis University. Twana completed their doctoral studies at this university in 2004. Prior to that, they obtained a Bachelor's degree in Psychology and Social Work from Concordia College, where they studied from 1979 to 1983.
