James Balcombe

Software Engineer at MODE

James Balcombe has worked in a variety of roles since 2009. James began their career as a Teacher of ICT at Coopers Company and Coborn School in 2009. James then became the Head of Computing at Westcliff High School for Boys in 2012. After that, they took on the role of Head of Computer Science and IBDP Coordinator at Dulwich College Beijing in 2013. In 2017, they moved to The British School in Tokyo, where they became the Head of Computer Science and International Award Coordinator. Most recently, in 2022, they began working as a Software Engineer at MODE, Inc.

James Balcombe attended Purbrook Park School from 1995 to 2000. James then went on to the University of Warwick, where they earned a Bachelor of Engineering (BEng) in Computer Systems Engineering from 2002 to 2005. After that, they obtained a Master's Degree in Leadership and Management for Learning from Canterbury Christ Church University from 2012 to 2014. Most recently, they completed an Immersive Full Stack Bootcamp at Code Chrysalis in 2021.
