Helen Schafer

Helen Schafer is a dedicated healthcare professional currently serving as a Plastic & Reconstructive Surgery Resident at Vanderbilt University Medical Center since June 2022. Prior to this, Helen co-founded Tiny House Coffee Roasters, Inc., a micro-roastery based in Austin, TX, in November 2014, after gaining valuable community experience as a Bilingual Community Health Educator at Planned Parenthood of Greater Texas from September 2014 to May 2018 and as a Community Health Educator with the Peace Corps in Nicaragua from January 2012 to June 2014. Educational qualifications include a Doctor of Medicine from Dell Medical School at the University of Texas at Austin (2018-2022) and a Bachelor of Science in Exercise Physiology from the University of Miami (2007-2011). Helen's early career also includes roles as a Personal Trainer, Group Exercise Instructor, and Wellness Suite Supervisor, demonstrating a strong foundation in health and fitness.
