Benny Akesson

Science Lead at TNO-ESI

Benny Akesson serves as the Science Lead at TNO-ESI since March 2016, where responsibilities include guiding scientific direction and managing academic collaborations. In addition, Benny is an Endowed Professor at the University of Amsterdam, focusing on Design Methodologies for Cyber-Physical Systems and conducting research in model-based design methodologies. Previous roles include Senior Research Fellow and Research Fellow at TNO-ESI, Research Associate at CISTER, and Postdoctoral Researcher at multiple institutions, where Benny directed research on real-time systems and supervised students. Benny holds a PhD in Electrical Engineering from Eindhoven University of Technology and an MSc in Computer Science and Engineering from Lund University.

TNO-ESI

TNO-ESI is a Dutch Joint Innovation Centre of industry, academia and TNO for high-tech embedded systems design and engineering. It has a close cooperation with high-tech industry, as well as a strong association with fundamental research of academia, both national and international and TNO. ESI contributes to society and economy by driving advances in high-tech systems technology, with a strong shared research program, dedicated innovation support, a focused competence development program, and various knowledge- and experience-sharing activities. RESEARCH TNO-ESI's strategic shared research program addresses latest technologies for design and engineering of high-tech embedded systems. By acting as research partner, bridge and integrator, we bring together multi-disciplinary teams of academic and industrial experts to drive future high-tech solutions. COMPETENCE DEVELOPMENT Innovation- and design strategy are key topics for any high-tech company. Realization of these topics requires technical top talent with in-depth understanding of the challenges and needs of today’s high-tech product innovation. Our training programs support the participants in developing their architectural and overall professional competencies.
