Lee Symes has worked in various roles in the gaming industry since 1998. In 1998, they were employed as a Part Time Printer Repair Engineer at CRC Group plc and a Junior Network Manager at Rycotewood College. In 1999, they worked as a Games Tester at EA / Bullfrog (Visual Sciences) in Dundee. In 2001, they were a 3D Modeller and Webmaster at IC-Cave, University of Abertay Dundee. In 2002, they were a Lead Artist in the Dare to be Digital competition. In 2003, they were a Technical Art Director at Caveman Arts. In 2005, they were a Senior Environment Artist at Funcom Oslo AS. In 2012, they were a Senior Artist at Attensi. From 2016 to 2020, they were a Technical Artist at The Future Group AS. Currently, they are a Senior Technical Environment Artist at Toadman Interactive (publ).

Lee Symes began their education in 1990, at Mandeville Upper School, where they completed their GCSE and A-Level qualifications. From 1996 to 1997, they attended Aylesbury Training Group, where they obtained an NVQ in Mechanical & Electrical Engineering. From 1997 to 1999, they attended Rycotewood College and obtained a National Diploma in IT Applications. Finally, from 1999 to 2003, Lee Symes attended Abertay University, where they obtained a Bachelor of Arts in Computer Arts (with Japanese).
