Niall McArdle

Niall McArdle serves as the Senior Director of Engineering at Toast since May 2019, previously holding the position of Director of Engineering at the same company. From 2012 to April 2019, Niall was the Senior Vice President for EMEA Payments at Citi, overseeing the EMEA Payments Regional Technology Platform with a daily processing volume exceeding $Trillion across over 50 branches. Prior experience includes serving as Head of Engineering at Realex Payments, where Niall managed the technical delivery of a refresh program processing €24 billion in card transactions annually. Niall's career also includes roles at AOL, where responsibilities ranged from Technical Manager to Principal Software Engineer, focusing on search architecture and data warehousing. Earlier roles at CCM Software, Marrakech, Cambridge Technology Partners, and Credo further solidified Niall's technical leadership and software engineering expertise. Niall holds an MSc in Business (Leadership & Management Practice) from UCD Michael Smurfit Graduate Business School and a BSc in Computer Applications from Dublin City University.
