Maria Hallgren Hough has a wide range of work experience spanning over three decades. Maria began their career as an Analyst at A C Nielsen in 1990 and stayed with the company until 1993. From 1994 to 1995, they worked as a Project Leader in Research at Kanal 5. Maria then joined SBS in 1996 as an Audience Research Manager. Maria's next move was to BBC, where they worked as a Media Planner from 1997 to 1999 and later became Group Head of Media Planning from 2000 to 2003. In 2003, Maria started working at The Walt Disney Company as Nordic Research Manager for Disney Channels and held various roles within the company, including Nordic Marketing Director for Disney Channel and Nordic Head of Marketing for Retail and Direct-to-Consumer. Maria then joined Toca Boca in 2020 and currently holds the position of Head of Marketing.

Maria Hallgren Hough completed their Bachelor of Arts in Business Administration and Management, General from Stockholm University from 1992 to 1995. Following that, they pursued a Master of Science degree in Media and Communications from The London School of Economics and Political Science (LSE) during the academic year 1995-1996.
