Jack Reed

Software Engineer at Tome

Jack Reed has four years of work experience. Jack began their career in 2006 as a Sales Manager at Smartalk Communications, Inc. In 2010, Jack moved to Georgia State University, where they served as the Director Geospatial Laboratories/ Department Technology Manager. In this role, they were responsible for the development and implementation of mapping, crowdsourcing, and data visualization applications for research and community engagement. Jack also provided key technical assistance on geospatial research projects and assistance to faculty and students. In 2014, Jack joined Stanford University as a Software Engineer. In this role, they were a technical lead and team member in a software engineering organization, building search and access to digital library content. Jack delivered value to end users from design to delivery of large scale software projects and built software projects focused on geospatial, search, and high impact research tools. In 2021, Jack joined Tome as a Software Engineer.

Jack Reed attended South Gwinnett from 1998 to 2002. Jack then attended North Carolina State University from 2002 to 2004. After that, they attended Georgia State University Perimeter College from 2007 to 2008. Jack then went on to earn a B.S. in Geology from Georgia State University from 2008 to 2010. Finally, they earned a Master of Science (M.S.) in Computer Science from the Georgia Institute of Technology from 2013 to 2017.
