Andrew Shepherd

Andrew Shepherd is the current Managing Director at TopHat.Io, and they have held this position since September 2020. Prior to that, they were the CEO of Mid Group Limited from October 2014 to September 2020. During their time at Mid Group, the company grew from a standing start to a secured order book of over £250m by summer 2020. The business received multiple accolades, including Contractor of the Year in 2020, as well as delivering some incredible projects, including the largest school in Europe.

Before their time at Mid Group, Andrew was Sector Head at Laing O'Rourke from March 2009 to October 2014. Andrew's roles and responsibilities included leadership of business sectors, project leadership, regional strategy, as well as structuring and financing PPP and infrastructure bids in different jurisdictions, including the UK, Canada, New Zealand, Hong Kong, and Australia. A number of innovative and successful projects were worked on at Laing O'Rourke during Andrew's tenure, including the first PPP funded directly by an institutional investor and the largest PPP project in North America.

After completing their Executive Management Course at Imperial College London, Andrew Shepherd pursued a Bachelor of Science in CMQS at Loughborough University. Andrew then continued their education by obtaining a certification from the Chartered Institute of Taxation in CTA and another certification from the Institute of Chartered Accountants in Scotland in Diploma in Accounting and Tax.
