Mike McNair, PMP has over 30 years of experience in the aerospace industry. Mike began their career in 1989 at CAE Link Flight Simulation as a Software Development Manager, where they led personnel to create radar simulators and software, conducted customer briefings, estimated costs and production schedules, and analyzed development requirements and integrated software. In 1992, they moved to Lockheed Martin as a Software Manager, where they led a software team of 15 developers under rigorous implementation and safety standards. Mike also built and led a software field support team for the project. In 1999, they joined BAE Systems as a Software Program Manager, where they led embedded software development of a chemical agent gas detector that was successfully delivered and fielded. Mike also led the software engineering process group for the company to integrate and advance the company’s CMM certification program. In 2004, they joined SAIC as the Chief Systems Architect and Chief Software Engineer, where they led a geographically dispersed team of direct reports and subcontractors to architect the unmanned systems capability within a system of systems framework for the US Army Future Combat Systems program. In 2011, they moved to L-3 Communications, Link Flight Simulation as a Principal Program Engineer, Sr., where they had complete technical and personnel management for a family of high-end, high-performance military flight simulators. In 2013, they joined The University of Texas at Arlington as the Division Head and Principle Research Scientist, where they increased the division proposal submission rate by 300% with a corresponding increase in funding awards. Mike also expanded the customer contact base from primarily federal government to include industry and other academic institutions. In 2015, they joined the National Advanced Mobility Consortium as an Academic Research Board of Directors Member and Member of Executive Committee, where they focused on representing the academic and research membership of the consortium in Board and Consortium actions and decisions. In 2017, they joined Bell - Textron as the Sr. Manager - Innovation, where they were an internal champion for Intelligent Vehicle Systems technologies including air vehicle autonomy, artificial intelligence/machine learning, human-machine teaming and cybersecurity. Mike also joined Torch as a Business Mentor, where they sought to help their peers to be more productive and effective in their current and future roles. In 2020, they joined SAE Industry Technologies Consortia as the Vice President - Aerospace, Program Manager for the SAE AMS Additive Manufacturing Data Consortium, and Sr. Business Development Manager. In their roles, they have developed strategic direction, developed customer relationships, supported current programs, facilitated dialog between industry, government and academia, created pedigreed additive manufactured material property data, independently assessed and incorporated data created and owned by organizations, and developed relationships and enabled solutions for industry's organizations.

Mike McNair, PMP has an extensive educational background. Mike obtained a Bachelor of Science in Physics from Texas A&M University between 1978 and 1982. Mike then went on to obtain a Master of Science in Systems Engineering from The George Washington University between 2010 and 2013. Additionally, they have obtained several certifications from LinkedIn, including Executive Influence (2022), Be the Manager People Won't Leave (2021), Counterintuitive Leadership Strategies for a VUCA (Volatile, Uncertain, Complex, Ambiguous) Environment (2021), Executive Leadership (2021), Thinking Creatively (2021), Transitioning from Manager to Leader (2021), and Lean Technology Strategy: Purposeful Organizations (2021). Mike also obtained a Project Management Professional certification from the Project Management Institute in 2007.
