Miguel Pimentel

Miguel Pimentel is an accomplished professional in the field of metallurgy and process engineering, currently serving as Vice President of Metallurgy and Process Engineering at Torex Gold Resources Inc since January 2019. Miguel has held various roles within the organization, including Director and Process Plant Manager at the ELG Mine Complex. Prior to this, Miguel worked at Barrick Gold Corporation, managing engineering and design for the Pueblo Viejo Operations and providing technical support for global development activities. Experience also includes a principal role at BHP Billiton overseeing engineering at the Jansen Project Site, and significant tenure at Vale, where Miguel contributed to Base Metals Operations and held leadership roles in Smelter Technical Services. Earlier career highlights include managerial positions at Newmont Mining Corporation and Southern Peru Copper Corporation. Miguel holds a Master’s degree in Metallurgical Engineering from Universidad Nacional de San Agustin de Arequipa and a Bachelor’s degree in Chemical Engineering from the National University of Engineering.
