Carl Wheeler

Carl Wheeler is a seasoned geologist with extensive experience in the oil and gas industry. Currently serving as a Senior Prospect Generator at TotalEnergies since January 2016, Carl specializes in identifying and maturing prospects, and has a strong background in new ventures management, notably as the South America Atlantic Margin New Ventures Manager and Angola New Ventures Manager. Prior to TotalEnergies, Carl held managerial positions at TOTAL E&P Brasil Ltda, leading pre-salt exploration teams, and served as Lead Geologist at BG Group, focusing on deepwater pre-salt exploration in Brazil. Early career experience includes roles at Chevron and Texaco, where Carl gained expertise in international new ventures and HPHT exploration. Carl holds an MSc in Petroleum Geoscience from Imperial College London, completed in 1999.
