Simon Coggins

Simon Coggins is an accomplished technology leader with extensive experience in developing and implementing innovative strategies within the learning technology sector. As the Director of Learning Technologies at Totara Learning since 2010, Simon has spearheaded initiatives such as a multi-product strategy, mobile app development, and business analytics tools, while also providing technical leadership on key projects in API and Cloud/SaaS domains. Previous roles include serving as Chief Technology Officer and Lead Software Architect, where Simon established high standards for code quality and effective software processes. Earlier career experiences include software development at Catalyst IT Limited and significant roles at the British Antarctic Survey, contributing to the Halley VI Project and overseeing data management at a remote research facility. Simon holds a PhD in Astrophysics from the University of Nottingham and a BSc in Physics from The University of Sheffield.
